Christchurch

We are spending three nights in Christchurch. The city centre was devastated by the earthquake five years ago, and there are cranes and building sites everywhere, along with a lot of buildings which have yet to be demolished. Still a lovely city, and there are many reconstruction projects underway to make it even better than before.

Banks Peninsula
On Thursday, we spent a day in Banks Peninsula, about 1.5 hours drive from the city.

Okains Bay, lovely and quiet
Hipsters this way!

  2. Did you go to the place where the French landed and a few streets still have French names? Is it Akaroa? No doubt you passed Sumner and thought of Rosie ☺
